Developers Alliance Comments on Antitrust Hearing

WASHINGTON (Dec. 16, 2025) — Developers Alliance co-founder and board chair Jake Ward released the following statement ahead of the Subcommittee on the Administrative State, Regulatory Reform, and Antitrust hearing: “Anti-American Antitrust: How Foreign Governments Target U.S. Businesses.”

“The role of any government to reasonably regulate while supporting innovation is neither simple nor easy. Nobody gets it right every time. However, by consistently focusing its energy and considerable resources on curtailing American technology companies, the European Union has become a global leader in how not to foster innovation or growth among its own people.

“Technology should not be regulated out of fear or prejudice. Instead, lawmakers both here and abroad should guard against malfeasance and consumer harm, while also reaching out to understand what future innovation could do for consumers, markets, and society as a whole.

“Creating a thriving global tech sector requires policies that encourage innovation, choice, and competition. As entrepreneurship in Europe continues to dwindle, the EU’s restrictive approach is a cautionary tale, not a model to be replicated.”
